vCloud Director 9.5 VCD Gateway Config

If you installed the new VMware vCloud Director version 9.5, and you were wondering where the gateway configuration disappeared to during the Org VCD network configurations, then you have come to the right place.

Last week I deployed the new release of VMware vCloud Director version 9.5; but I was struggling to keep up with the configuration as I went through the tenant and SP configuration. To be specific, the challenge arose while I was configuring a new Organization VCD Network.

In the past, VMWare clearly presented an entry point for the Gateway configuration; but in the new version, there is no clear place for the Gateway. Instead of the gateway, configuration is incorporated with the Network CIDR. Let’s look at that now:

Of course, it is not a big deal setting this up, but if networking is your stronger side, then your CIDR knowledge will point you to providing a subnet mask in this section of the setup, not the gateway.

The good news was that when I contacted VMware, they were very accommodating and happy to take the feedback for something to modify in the future.

What do you think?
